If you love varieties of Sudoku, you will love this. For overlapping puzzle squares there are 2 different types of puzzles to use to figure out the answers. One answer may work for one type of puzzle, but the right answer must work for both types of puzzles. I love the challenge of having to look at a puzzle in multiple ways to get the answer. If stuck, I work at another area and many times that leads to clues to solve the puzzles. This is one of the best of many Sudoku puzzle books that I have done. Love, love, love this!!! Varieties of styles hooked together. I have been addicted to these for the last week. I literally cannot stop. Has three different levels of difficulty, to give you a chance to learn the varieties.
I bought this for my mom for Christmas. She loved this book so much I bought t for her again for Mother's Day because she could never find another Loco Sudoku type book that was exactly what she wanted. I've pre-ordered the "part 2" for her and it's just in time for her birthday!
Djape is the very best if you want something beyond regular store puzzle books. Most of his puzzle books tend toward the more challenging (which is what I like) and this one has a variety of Sudoku puzzles all combined together, which makes them much more fun.
I've had lots of his books and I love them. This one fits right in. It is a little easier than his usual ones and there's no "easy, medium, hard etc" - they're all the same difficulty. Still I love having 5 different types in the same puzzle, it makes it fun.
I'm really loving this sudoku book. It's fun but mentally challenging switching between the variations to solve one big puzzle.
The spiral bound format is much easier to use than traditional books. I hope all DJAPE books will come spiral bound.
The practice single puzzles in the beginning are really good at training you for the different logical patterns that need to be applied. The different variations provide much more interesting solution patterns and processing which makes it more enjoyable. Since each puzzle is actually 5 in one, each page takes much longer to solve so may take a couple sittings to work through each section. I like the mental challenge of thinking differently on each puzzle. Not just doing the same thing over and over. So far, after 5 of the larger pages it has me hooked. Each puzzle was researched and developed so each section is a challenge and needs help from the other sections to find solutions. Great job in the development of these new patterns.
THIS IS NOT REGULAR SUDOKU! I hastily bought this for my mom without closely reading the product description. It has a couple of different variations of Sudoku and they mix them all together (so four or more boxes to solve for one puzzle). Not exactly what I was looking for, but looks like a lot of fun if it's what you are expecting. I'm giving it 5 stars because it looks like a lot of fun for the audience that is looking for something other than just regular Sudoku. I was given a full refund and told to keep the product, which was a nice surprise as I was not looking forward to dealing with the UPS during the holiday season.
